			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Hello everyone! I thought I'd take the opportunity to introduce myself to the community as well as keep everyone informed of my work in the SWG:ANH core.<br />

<b>==INTRODUCTION==</b><br />
I am <font color="#FFBF00">Powerking</font>, and I've been working with SWG modding, emulation, and reverse engineering for about 5 years now (<u>long</u> time, inorite?). I have worked with several teams throughout this span of time (with contributions varying greatly). I started with the <b>SwgEmuMods</b> group, which was a group that intended to create mods for the swg client. While there I started a small project (that quickly grew out of my hands), called <b>cuemu</b>. I'm not going to take credit for anything that the <b>cuemu</b> did, because it was mostly put together by others (<font color="#FFBF00">apathy</font>). From there I wandered to the <b>SwgPreCU</b> team and eventually bounced to the <b>OSSWG (Persistent Worlds)</b> team. After taking a short break from the SWG scene I returned to come do work for <b>SWG:ANH</b>.<br />
<br />
Upon my arrival I received a copy of the source code, some instructions, a few logins and was told to have at. I quickly established what I wanted to be my first area of work: <b>Scout</b>. I've only been working with the core for about a week and a half, but I'm already starting to feel that I've got a good grasp of it's structure. I've fixed several bugs (some minor, some enormous), finished camp implementation (Pictures Incoming!), and have completely added in foraging!<br />

I started with ANH well over a year ago (Aug 2008 I think). I originally came on board to work on tools as my C++ skills were a little rusty having not used them for 3 years. Mugly quickly put me to work on the core regardless of any protest. Some of the first stuff I touched was bug fixes, and improvements to help the testers out (for example the profession mastery tool on the frog - before that, testers had to train each skill manually).<br />
<br />
After getting to grips with the layout of the core I started doing some new systems like the Buff system (to help finish entertainer and start chef foods) and initial implementation of some Medic stuff (which is now being handled by Valkyra).<br />
<br />
Throughout this period I was working full time and undertaking a part time Masters. Things were getting so hectic with my course and job that I couldn't continue with ANH so I took a leave of absence.<br />
<br />
I am glad to say that my Dissertation was handed in just over a week ago, and assuming I pass, I am all done. Je fin. This gives me more free time, and although I need to catch up with 2 years of DIY, and plenty of 360 games to complete, I now have enough free time to start contributing again.<br />
<br />
Now that I am back again, I need to get to grips with the core. As before, I have found the best way to do this is to go fix some bugs.  This lets me wander through many different parts of the core as well as highlighting some of the deficiencies we have. It also helps keep the testers happy!  <img src="http://www.swganh.com/anh_community/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif" border="0" alt="" /> <br />

Once I am done reacquainting myself with the core I will be taking a look at CH and Pets. I was always a Bio Engineer at heart Pre-CU and loved concocting awesome critter recipes like a mad scientist. But BE (pets/DNA Sampling) can't be implemented until we have CH in there to use the pets and a suitable spawning system (which Schmunzel promises me she will take care of next).<br />

We already have speeders in game now, but for me, it won't be Star Wars Galaxies until I have a bantha mount.  <img src="http://www.swganh.com/anh_community/images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif" border="0" alt="" /><br />

You just need to make sure to target yourself when healing, I haven't implemented proper the proceedure for the system to target yourself when you're trying to heal an attackable creature.<br />

I answered truthfully, that I (more or less) regularly post updates on my work in the developer section.<br />
However, the thought struck me, that people who want to learn the news, might look in the news section, rather than in the developement section.....<br />

So let me post some NEWS ... <img src="http://www.swganh.com/anh_community/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif" border="0" alt="" /><br />
<br />
Currently at ANH we are working on 3 major systems.<br />
The majority of my work is directed at Playerstructures and neighbouring gamesystems. As I just finished factories, I have put a lot of work into finalizing the crafting system, so that we can finish the data entry for schematics and have fully functional crafting for all basic professions, and very nearly all the advanced professions, too.<br />
The schematic db entries are around 2/3 done with small work still to be done so that components properly affect the stats of the finalized item. A work for which muglies and Rouses tools as much as readies and Vidis research provide the vital assistance.<br />
With crafting finalizing I am currently implementing housing, with all the basic groundwork being already finished Im currently finalizing the house implementation by tuning the code to not send unnecessary Packets when we are just moving past them.<br />
the third big thing we are working on is the implementation of Professions. Powerking and Valkyra just started on the implementation of Scout resp medic with the  focus on getting a playable Beta with all basic professions and the most important gamesystems implemented.<br />
<br />
At this point the codebase is very stable with a recent crashbug introduced with the placing of nonpersistant (not db based) Objects in playercamps. More news will follow shortly when we get some idea on the work still necessary to get something more tangible to the community.<br />

For this I beg your pardon.<br />
BUT I have marvelous news.<br />
Factories are properly implemented with minor updates still necessary so they use the resources and components properly as the schematics dictates. A lot of crates have already been produced since then with sweets and crafting components. As you can see in the provided screenshots the factorie crates are already completely integrated into the crafting process.<br />
<br />
The next good news is that housing has been started and that we can place houses using their respective deeds.<br />
Houses are already fully integrated in the SI and you can see us in there doing party preparations.<br />
